MATES BSM Roadie – Day 1

Sep 21, 2020 | MATES Events

The MATES BSM Roadie Blog – Day 1 in Gisborne.

We are off! Travelling the length and breadth of  New Zealand and joining the annual Building Skills Maintenance (BSM) Roadshow. This popular event is a firm fixture on the building and construction calendar,  as it calls in on 34 destinations right around the country. MATES were thrilled to be invited along this year and will be travelling with BSM Director, Dion Tapper.

Slade and the team will be sharing our General Awareness Training (GAT) in each town. The GAT introduces workers to the MATES suicide prevention programme by understanding the nature of the suicide problem and providing practical tools, as to how everyone can play a part to assist their mates.

MATES will be on the road through to the end of November, you can check out a full list of destinations below.

They are travelling in a very distinctive and stylish Campervan thanks to Jucy and will also be checking in with Foundation Partner Kainga Ora build partners along the way.

If you happen to catch the team in your town take a pic and post it to social media using the hashtag #matesroadtrip2020

Don’t miss us at the BSM Roadshow and register HERE for your nearest region.

Slade and Richie have hit their first destination on their roadie, Gizzy! They’ll be stopped over there for the day as they wait for the BSM show to start at 5:30 pm.

Be on board and come back to our Blogs or Social Media to follow their adventures as they spread the MATES messages throughout their first couple of destinations across the North Island.
