Minister Andrew Little visits MATES

We were thrilled to welcome Minister of Health Hon Andrew Little to site today to learn more about the MATES in Construction programme. We were able to share an update with the Minister and Sarah Hetrick acting Director of the Suicide Prevention Office, about the impact that the funding through the Governments Mental Wellbeing Innovation fund has made in allowing us to expand the programme right across Aotearoa to help thousands more in our industry.

We met the Minister at the Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities Greys Avenue project office and then took a tour onto site. The Minister was able to hear first hand from the contractor, Icon about how they have successfully integrated MATES onto site, for all their workforce community. The project is the first MATES accredited Government site, which couldn’t be more fitting on a build that is impacting so many lives.
