Aotearoa Invitational’s charity of choice, MATES in Construction
Our journey to prevent suicide is so much smoother when you have some great mates. This year we found some new great mates when Nathan McCullum, Awen Guttenbeil and Kelsen Butler got in touch to let us know the incredible news that they had chosen MATES in Construction NZ as the charity recipient of this years Aotearoa Invitational. Even better was the news that our close mates along at SkyCity Entertainment Group Auckland had also jumped on board to support this event.
On Wednesday the MATES team celebrated alongside SportsInc in association with Total Property Worx and Passive Fire NZ, and SkyCity Auckland where we were presented with a cheque from the proceeds of the star studded Aotearoa Invitational out at Windross Farm Golf Course. The tournament raised a whopping total of $51,000 for MATES in Construction. We can’t thank everyone involved enough and the funds will be put toward helping keeping our team out on sites delivering our suicide prevention programme.
Thank you to Michael Ahearne, Kelsen Butler, Awen Guttenbeil, Nathan McCullum, Kate Gourdie, Lizzie Leuchars, and Kurt Tyson for joining CEO Victoria McArthur, Programme Manager Gloria Vetekina, Field Officers Richard (Richie) Hepi, raman lee, Erin Witana, Karon Vea and James Earls for this event.
